Description
This outstanding farm coffee from Galapagos Islands is certified organic, bird friendly and grown under the shade of a forest pavillon at Hacienda El Cafetal located on San Cristobal island.San Cristóbal (Chatham) is the easternmost island in the Galápagos archipelago, as well as one of the oldest geologically. It is administratively part of San Cristóbal Canton, Ecuador. Its Spanish (and official Ecuadorian) name “San Cristóbal” comes from the patron saint of seafarers, St. Christopher. English speakers increasingly use that name in preference to the traditional English name of Chatham Island, derived from William Pitt, 1st Earl of Chatham.
Hacienda El Cafetal has been cultivating coffee since 1875 when Don Manuel Cobos imported coffee from Ethiopia to start his 247 acre plantation. Unbelievably, the coffee today is produced from the same original heirloom plants planted in 1875! An extraordinary, rich coffee with a sweet acidity, medium body and intense aroma.
The product is presented in aluminium metal box of 125g
