Spiced pumpkin butter recipe

This delicious spiced pumpkin butter is a treat with everything from pancakes to granola and will keep in the fridge for roughly a week.

Ingredients

  Metric  Cups  Imperial 

  • 850 g canned pumpkin purée
  • 120 ml apple juice
  • 250 ml maple syrup
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch fresh nutmeg
  • 2 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 30 oz canned pumpkin purée
  • 4.2 fl oz apple juice
  • 8.8 fl oz maple syrup
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch fresh nutmeg
  • 2 tsp vanilla bean paste
  • 30 oz canned pumpkin purée
  • 0.5 cup apple juice
  • 1.1 cups maple syrup
  • 2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 pinch fresh nutmeg
  • 2 tsp vanilla bean paste

Step-by-step

  1. Combine all the ingredients in a pan with a pinch of salt.
  2. Bring to the boil, then reduce the heat and simmer, uncovered, for 20–30 minutes, stirring frequently, until it has thickened and turned a dark orange-brown.
  3. Scoop into a bowl and allow to cool completely.
  4. Spoon into new, sterilized jars and decorate if you’re planning to give as a gift.
